A little bit about Tidbits and Crumbs
Who I am:
I’m Chris. Born and raised in Connecticut USA, but not the wealthy part. I’m not a wife, or a mother. And I’m OK with that. I love people and I love kids, I just don’t have any in my house. I’m a homeowner, I’m definitely a thrifty person, and I love cooking and DIYing. I like gardening a little. I sing like I think I’m good at it. Looking around my little computer desk, I’d say I also like to make messes. I serve a wonderful God whose hand I see at work everyday of my life, and I’m so grateful that he allowed me to come to know Him. I enjoy sharing stories and experiences, and I hope you’ll benefit from something I share, and will post your own thoughts in the comments. So now that you know a little about me, I’d love to know you, too! Give me a shout in the comments or on social media!
Stuff I like to talk about:
Cooking for One: I love to cook, but I don’t want to deal with dirty dishes, all the recipes I have will feed 6, I won’t eat it all before it goes bad anyway, so I’ll just grab whatever to calm the rumbly belly. Plus I really don’t know what I have a taste for, and all the choices are overwhelming anyway. Sound familiar? I never realized how hard it would be to cook for just one person. Last night, my dinner was a leftover piece of apple cake. Sometimes, it’s ice cream. My main goal for these recipes is that they have to be easy to make and not dirty every bowl, utensil and surface in the kitchen. Oh yeah, and they should taste good and be healthy – healthier than a bag of potato chips, at least.
DIY Projects: Easy ones. Because power tools make me feel like a boss, but my weak little girly arms can’t carry big stuff.
Crafty Things: Hey, not all DIY projects require power tools.. Some need a glue gun. Wait, if I have to plug it in, does that mean it counts as a power tool?
Hacks: Because sometimes I’m just too lazy and/or cheap to be bothered with a DIY project or a trip to the store. And really, who doesn’t love a project with almost zero work?
Reviews: Sometimes I find something that makes my life easier. Or more fun. And it’s not too expensive. I’ll tell ya about it when I do.
Home Ownership: Picture it: New England, 2015, a single girl who is close to broke buys a fixer upper house, everything is wrong with it – plumbing, furnace, roof, you name it! (Channeling my inner Sophia Petrillo, there). But seriously, this house can really test me and teach me. I’ll tell ya about it… I so want to tell you everything that was wrong with the house, but not in this paragraph. Click HERE if you want to hear more about it.
Gardening: For the first time in my life, I have a yard. I got right to work establishing my garden, and I’ll share my successes and failures.
Feelings and Struggles: Some happy, some not so much.. We all have them.. Sharing them helps to overcome them.
[Afterthought: I share a little more about myself in my Liebster Award Nomination Acceptance post, which you can read HERE.]
So that’s about it, I guess.. I wish I had it all together, and had a really great story. But I don’t. I just have tidbits and crumbs and bits and pieces.
Welcome to it.
